Hammerite manual
The manual the editor shows under Help: for the people who build levels with it. How the carved world works, every tool, and the audio and navigation it builds.
Core
Hammerite builds a carved world. The map starts as solid rock and you carve rooms out of it with air brushes. Walls, floors, openings, and which rooms connect all follow from the carve, and are worked out again after every edit.
Editor
The editor runs inside your game, over the level the game has loaded. What you see in its views is the game itself, entities included. Your game decides which key opens and closes it.
Audio
The audio addon makes sound travel through your level the way the rooms allow. A sound in another room is heard from the doorway it reaches you by, quieter and duller for the way it came. Sound never goes through walls.
Navigation
The navigation addon works out where guards and other agents can walk, and the ways between places that are not walking: windows, drops, jumps, ladders. Nothing is painted. The ground is picked from the carve: room floors, the tops of detail brushwork, and props marked as standable.
